VRM-IP360

The VRM-IP360 is an intelligent high performance Ethernet Industry Pack module based on the MC68EN360 Quad Integrated Communication Controller (QUICCTM). It has been designed to support high data transfer rates with a minimum of impact on the system load. The MC68EN360 is a versatile one-chip integrated microprocessor and peripheral combination that can be used in a variety of controller applications. The internal CPU32+ processor (4.5MIPS at 25MHz) can handle various operating systems and communication protocol software. The VRM-IP360 thus enables intelligent and embedded Ethernet communications on IP based systems. The VRM-IP360 can be optionally delivered with 2 Ethernet interfaces using the two Ethernet channels of the QUICC. The VRM-IP360 supports all of today’s standard protocols (TCP/IP, DECNet, ISO/OSI protocol) and is prepared for tomorrow’s demands. All of our network protocols are based on our Universal Protocol Stack Architecture (UPSA) which supports the simultaneous and independent execution of different network protocols. For our protocol stack, a driver for OS-9 and a firmware interface is available. The firmware interface enables the customer to implement host interfaces to different operating systems or integrate the VRM-IP360 in systems running without an operating system.
